Re: Jeni's New Truck
So far I know I need a brake controller but no idea what brand of tie down straps I should get. I was thinking of using axle straps because they seem to be a better idea. Any suggest on brands? Tekonsha P3 they have a pigtail that plugs directly into the truck harness. Plug is on driver side kick p...

Re: Jeni's New Truck
Do you have the big TRD brakes? Granted I only have 56k miles on mine but I've had no abnormal trouble with the brakes and they can stop the truck and loaded trailer very impressively all by themselves (I can attest to this from when my trailer brakes decided not to work coming off the highway last...

Re: Jeni's New Truck
Have the same truck in limited trim with 5.7 (has some upgrades) great truck, made in Texas with non unionized workers, tows awesome has decent gas mileage 17-21 mpg during the summer and 14-17 in the winter. Only gripe is the dam brake rotors keep warping, rear are worse then the front. Also wish i...

And still no Hemi, junk as far as I'm concerned.ZAEDOCK wrote:$36K & $40K for a Wrangler?
They can keep it. I'd rather buy another truck and get more for my money.

Re: YJ on Tons Build Saga
Hi Kurt nice to see progress! On the shock front ORI's are definitely nice but for a trail rig that does not compete or race I wouldn't discount Air Shocks. That being said I would go for 2.5 instead of the 2.0. You can get a pair of 2.5 Fox air shocks for about $750 shipped to your door versus 600 ...

Re: YJ on Tons Build Saga
Miguel - thank you for the pointers on possible tires to run. Still haven't decided on which tires just yet. Needed to get my rear disc conversion done to determine which rim diameter I have to run. The resulting dimater may narrow down which beadlocks and tires I can run. No doubt about it 17"...

Re: YJ on Tons Build Saga
Can't go wrong with 60's . Nice! My thoughts too. Figured I may as well go whole hog and build some stout axles. Oh, need to pop the question... what tires are you gonna run? Thinking of 40-42's. Haven't decided on an brand or model yet. Suggestions? Something good for playing on the rocks here on ...

Re: Fuel Cell
Wholly crap Frank you must have picked up that cell from me what 3 years ago? Most buggies just rout the vent 3 sides & down with a manual shut off valve (mainly due to the bladder type cells) and a filter so that as the tank empties and sucks air in, the air gets filtered and eliminates particl...
