Metalcloak Skid Plates

For the people that have the Metalcloak full undercloak skid plates do you have any issues with them due to mud and snow. Looks like it’s going to be a pain flushing them out. Got the motor and transmission skid on noticed it’s going to trap all the crap.

I have full Metal cloak skids. I park in a garage, so all the snow melts. As for the mud, its get everywhere. It does take a little while to rinse out, but it must be about the same as other full skids.

great question. this will be my first winter with full belly skids. snow not too worried about but mud could be interesting!!! at the same time it should protect a little against all the salt on the road

I have the rock hard 4x4 full belly skid and I know its full of crap in there, and after I splash through a puddle it leaks for a long time afterwards hehe. On mine there is only one small spot to even think about trying to flush it out without laying on the ground.

Have had a full set of MC skids, including FAD and diffs for two years now. The benefits of their protection to me far outweigh the extra rinse time I give them after wheeling in the mud. That said, I do not see much left over fill on top of my plates

Admittedly, I power wash my rig off and touch up scratches after most trips. And as some would say, it looks too clean when I show up for a run anyway.

I think any skidplate is going to trap mud and snow, it is the nature of the beast.

I don't think the metalcloak is any better or worse in this regard.

I have them on my 2door. They definitely hold mud. After a good wheeling, I’ll run the hose down them, just like I do with the rest of the vehicle. No real issues.

I was looking at the Metal Cloak but went with the EVO (most of my rig has EVO parts)
