I'm 6'1" and don't have any issues with legroom or space in the JK but they are bigger.

Actually, they're about the same as the TJ. Now my YJ had some leg room.Spudcannons wrote:I'm 6'1" and don't have any issues with legroom or space in the JK but they are bigger.
The issue really isn't length, in a well designed car I can get by. The problem is that every car or truck that anybody has built since 1995 or so has a damned center console that ends up right where my right leg needs to go. In my TJ, I had seat movers which pushed the seat back a couple of inches, so I avoided the problem. Nobody makes seat movers for the JK yet, guess I'll have to fab my own when I get a chance.

Re: CB Radio Mounting options
See that little ridge that sticks out in the center there? With the black plastic base that connects it to the transmission tunnel? I guarantee you that that's right where my right knee needs to be. Like I said, the last comfortable vehicle for me was my 1990 YJ. The one before that was my '69 Chevy pickup, with a bench seat.schwalby wrote:Not my TundraDDewar53 wrote: The problem is that every car or truck that anybody has built since 1995 or so has a damned center console that ends up right where my right leg needs to go.

Re: CB Radio Mounting options
It actually is far enough to swing your leg over. I am about the same height as you and I have plenty of room. With the center console up I can pretty much walk from one side to the other. Hunched over obviously but I don't have to do the seat slide.

I modded a Smittybilt overhead console to hold the CB plus add some storage.

Nope i have no clue what to do with a CB past the install. I think it may be DOA? or does it not work until tuned?

It's very important that you tune the antenna before trying to use it. You can damage the electronics if you don't.Spudcannons wrote:Nope i have no clue what to do with a CB past the install. I think it may be DOA? or does it not work until tuned?

Re: CB Radio Mounting options
It wont even show the channel on the LCD to attempt to tune it... I guess I will call Cobra tomorrow... It's a bit weird since the functions seem to work but not the LCD.

Re: CB Radio Mounting options
It should work, maybe not terribly well, even before tuning the antenna.Spudcannons wrote:... I think it may be DOA? or does it not work until tuned?
What make & model CB is it?
Make sure any switch's are in the correct position for CB use.
It's slightly possible you have a switch in the wrong setting causing it to no display a channel.
