Great looking LJ. I really like those. The upgrades give it a nice stance. Good work.

Thanks. Works pretty well, too.

Not bad with the 4.10s and the 6 speed but I think next summer I'm going to regear to either 4.56 or 4.88. I have to downshift on the highway going uphill sometimes if I'm cruising below 75MPH.

Reason why I ask is because going from 32x10.5 to 33x12.5 resulted with a huge difference: increased bump steer & touchy steering. Not a big fan of highway driving.

Power wise, everything is good 5 speed with 4:56.

I don't understand how a change of tire size can change bumpsteer which is a suspension geometry problem. Tires should have no bearing on that unless you changed other components at the same time.

Since upgrading I have noticed that when going down a rough road (dirt or paved), when my front tire hits a bump, it takes more effort to keep the tires pointed straight. I have always assumed that this was referred to as bumpsteer and is what a steering dampener helps reduce.

Alignment was done by Lou and at the same time the suspension was checked and no issues were flagged.

You're right on here, it wouldn't change bump steer, but going to a larger rolling mass will exaggerate any issues that were already there.

Chris it sounds a lot like not enough toe in. You should be at about 1/8" for a 33 - 35" tire.

I haven't any bumpsteer. No damper and no assist. Working on the assist though.
