looking out for me

Unread post by smileyfish »

Someone is looking out for me, as most of you know I had to sell my cj3b. I got a text message the other day asking if I wanted a free jeep, 1 owner barn find. I guess the back end and floor boards are bad with rust. Supposedly ran when put away but tranny was seized in gear. From the to text he sent me it appears to be a 76-81 cj 7 auto 6cyl. I am going to be checking it out either tomorrow or monday. If the frame is decent is the rest of the jeep is okay I will go back and get it. So if you want the fish smile again I will gladly take some help to get it trailworthy for next year.

Awesome! I've seen a few TF999's on NEOW, so finding a tranny shouldn't be too bad.

76-81 will have a Dana 30 front and AMC 20 rear. Both easily upgraded.

Definitely post up a work day.

Mark... I know someone selling a WJ w/ the 4.0L I6 in NH. It never saw dirt and may have a solid, if you want to look for a complete powertrain doner. Not sure if she still has it, but I could probably help with transport.

Went to go check out both jeeps today and the free 1 is free for a reason 95 percent of it is unusable, but the 1 that guy said it was for parts only is 95 percent usable. So it looks like in the next few weeks I will have a cj 7 here to work on. And we should be on the trails next year or later this year.
