Re: Membership Benefits
Well, first of all, you get to hang out with a bunch of cool, very knowledgeable, mechanically inclined (some of us ) people who will take yo wheeling in places you could only dream about not being in a club.
Seriously, we wheel on legal lands that we (and other clubs) have explicit rights to. The trails are cut by us and other clubs.
We been on wheeling trips to Pennsylvania, Canada, MOAB and soon (2012) possibly California.
There are many benefits to joining, I just wanted to post up quick, others will chime in. Visit our Website for more info also, www.baystatejeepers.com

Re: Membership Benefits
In addition to what Scott said we often do wrench fests to help members tackle projects these range from improptu "I have a case of beer and X part to put in who wants to help" to "on X date we will be at You Do it in Nashua what do you need to get done?" When I first joined I got a lot of help putting in a locker, ball joints etc to get me trail ready. There is a wealth of information on the forum with the people in the club to help you with building your rig to suit your needs. Also joining this club gives you access to NEA sposored events like the poker runs, fall craw, and snow run. We have a pretty full roster for this year with several camping events and 2 trips to Rausch Creek planned. We will also do what we can to make it a safe and fun trip with great spotters to help you thru the obstacles. etc. Also if you dont join a club there are maybe 2 or 3 legal places to wheel in MA so you are very limited in where you can go....
Oh and as to the where does my money go. part of your dues goes into the NEAs fund, we are members of tread lightly and you become a member as well. If you are looking at buying a new jeep Tread lightly offers a deal with somethign like 1% over dealer invoice which can save a pile of money as well. you also get a free subscription to Tracks our most excellent news letter.....

Re: Membership Benefits
You can go on the Poker Runs with out being in a club, you can't go to Fall Crawl.
Fall Crawl is my favorite event, I can't wait till next year, I hope BSJ will let me camp with them again. I was planning on giving Evelyn my $ at the GAJR meeting but that's been bumped back.

Re: Membership Benefits
Jeff (Voodoo Chile) summed it up real nice. You really can't put a value on the expertise you have in this club and the willingness to help others. Anyone that's benefited from a wrenchfest or trail repair (which is prolly everyone ) will agree with that
And oh yeah, we love to wheel

1.) A chance to meet people with the same time consuming, life altering interest as you.jeeplife05 wrote:I was curious to know what the benefits of becoming a member are. I want to join but i want to know what im gonna get out of it and where the money goes.

2.) A chance to take your jeep places you never that possible, and would never find on your own.
3.) Seemingly endless (and local) knowledge about any little tick, knock, bump, thump and groan your vehicle chooses to emit
4.) If Carl is your trail leader, you'll get to explore places that no one else has ever been, cuz he went left when he shoulda gone straight.
5.) Great memories
When you buy that bumper from me, I'll throw in a good word for you with the guardians of the super secret area.Northshore Jeeper wrote:I am just curious after mailing in your aplication and check (I did at the end of last week) how long until I can access "the super-secret BSJ members only areas"? that's true!
Or you can take Paul's advice and climb that vertical cliff and let your water go when you start your death slide. Now THAT was a hoot!!!!! Never laughed so hard in my life
After realizing I, you know.............

Re: Membership Benefits
It's unbelievable, especially these days, how much you get in a year's membership for an amount that cost's less than filling your gas tank.

Re: Membership Benefits
Considering that the cost of a Jeep Jamboree is 300 for 2 days of wheeling and a few meals BSJ is a total bargain! Also at $50 we are one of the cheaper clubs out there....ZAEDOCK wrote:It's unbelievable, especially these days, how much you get in a year's membership for an amount that cost's less than filling your gas tank.
