Lockers
The Detroit in the front shouldn't effect street driving, it only locks when torque is applied via the front driveshaft. Only "side effect" would be clicking sound. As far as the steering goes, my understanding is your steering is most effected by the locked rear end pushing you through th...

Lockers
Wanted to get some opinions on lockers from y'all. I'm a bit concerned with breaking the factory lockers while running my comp tires, at this point in the build its the weak point. Here's what I'm thinking: Swap the front to a Detroit locker. Can only run 32 spline shafts here because of axle tube s...

Tire balancing with a product called equal?
I would opt for Dyna beads if you're going this route. Dyna beads are high density ceramic, definitely preferable to polymer.

Makes sense Doug. Simple fix, just a need to flip flop driver and passenger side. Thanks for the info.

I did some wondering about this today. Looking back at my muscle car days, we always mounted directional tires with the inside of the "V" pointing forward, your thoughts on the outside of the "V" pointing forward.

Very true. Smart money is on the factory locker. Truth is I'm pretty nervous about running these. If you have a weak component on your rig those tires will find it. Your rig looks sharp! Decided to go ahead and mount them to get a good idea of what body work I'll have to do to make these fit. Probab...

1 down, 4 to go. Running MB this weekend, figured it would be as good a place as any to get these broke in. Good time to illustrate the 2nd leading reason I chose these wheels (1st being backspacing,) the recessed bolt design on the lock ring. Nice, eh? http://img.tapatalk.com/d1065d68-3e5e-5af6.jpg...

ACE Hardware cutoff wheels
Just wanted to give everyone a heads up on these cheap pieces of junk! 4 1/2" metal cutoff wheels for your angle grinder: stay away. I usually use a better brand like Hilti but I was in a pinch and Ace is a short walk down the street. These nasty little fellas not only do a poor job cutting, bu...

Don't get the torque wrench, I've got 2. (I bought one, "lost" one, bought another, the found one ) We can work something out for it.

If you have their latest 4130 chrome moly, they'll warranty it.

Synergy Suspension
I've got to give a big thumbs up to Synergy on a recent customer service issue. I was doing a front end overhaul: new knuckles, RCV's, tie rod, and Synergy ball joints, during the installation I found that I had received a defective upper ball joint. The stud was way off center and couldn't be moved...

Yeah my thought is more towards "why not?" than "why?"
Given its enough of a PITA to mount tires on bead locks, I don't want to do it twice.

I realize it's a bit silly, 99.99% of the time these tires will be run at a crawl. That also being said, ask the guys that run KOH or Baja if they balance their comp tires. Granted I run nothing like that, but from time to time I like to step on the skinny pedal pretty hard and can hit 50 mph pretty...
