Re: Towing a JKRU - what vehicle?
Thanks, everyone for the feedback, I have a few boat trailers and landscaping trailers but did not realize the weight of a car trailer. Does a 10k trailer still have a hitch ball or does that go to a pintle hitch? A suburban would fit into the 1500 size truck category I assume? Sounds like I should ...

Awesome, are you getting the hard top as well? I told my neighbor to get the hard top and the wait was very long. His is a 4 door.

Re: JK
I reserved one almost 2 years ago, still waiting. There are some available but they are marked up like crazy if you can find one. lol Tire pressures make a world of difference My neighbor ordered one from a dealer in Maine 6 months ago and he had it 2 months ago. MSRP, let me know if you want the i...

Towing a JKRU - what vehicle?
I need to buy a new vehicle and need to tow but don't really want a traditional pickup truck since I would need a 4 door for the kids and I think they are too big. Anyone know what a JKRU "built" weighs on a trailer? If we convert our jeep to offroad only, we would go with 40-42" tire...

Re: Currie Antirock vs Rubicon stock Disconnect
I would have to wack mine with a rock to get it to reengage, now it is stuck unlocked. The sway isn’t that bad on the street but I’ll eventually replace it with something Yeah, the sway is not terrible, but it is noticeable. Plus the idiot light is driving me nutz. My 17 year old has not shown any ...

Re: Currie Antirock vs Rubicon stock Disconnect
Ok, so I am disgusted with this swaybar. It gave me problems all-day. It took forever to disconnect and now it will not reconnect. Is the best plan at this point to get it to lock one last time and install manual disconnects? It is not a daily driver, so I am not too worried about the antirock makin...

Re: Currie Antirock vs Rubicon stock Disconnect
If I had the Rubi, I'd get the EVO manual actuation unit for it. Just reach under and it sets the Disconnect... My problems are coming from the mechanical bits rusting stuck together, not the actuator motor. With the EVO mechanical disconnect, I could see you disconnecting the sway bar and it not r...

Re: Currie Antirock vs Rubicon stock Disconnect
Mike and I were having that debate last weekend, I am buying a bigger tow vehicle later this summer for my boat, so this is a real possibility.

Re: Currie Antirock vs Rubicon stock Disconnect
I'll let you know how the RTV seal works on the motor and gearcase. My jeep has 130k miles so I really think the swaybar seals are the real culprit. They have a lot of play.RandyCarol wrote: ↑Wed Apr 20, 2022 5:51 pm Mine acts up occasionally, eventually I’ll swap it out for an antirock

Re: Currie Antirock vs Rubicon stock Disconnect
It seems this time the shift fork was seized in the aluminum housing. I cleaned/wire brushed it a little bit, greased it, applied RTV to the housing and the shift motor and put it back together. It is working again. I think water is leaking in through the swaybar oil seals, but I don't feel like rep...

Need right lower control arm for JKUR
My steering is really off since my lower front control arm looks like a banana due to my superior driving skills. Does anyone have a takeoff that is straight lying around?
Thanks,
Chris

Re: Currie Antirock vs Rubicon stock Disconnect
As expected, my disconnect was full of water again.
I have a feeling the water is leaking through the rubber motor gasket, not the large paper gasket that separates the case.
Should I try sealing both interfaces with RTV?

Currie Antirock vs Rubicon stock Disconnect
So my 2012 JKRU swaybar is locked up again which means I have to remove it, clean out the rust, regrease and reseal it. I did this last 3 years ago since I generally don't drive the jeep in the rain and I don't drive it in the winter. I watched a video on the Currie Anti-rock and was intrigued by it...

Re: Metalcloak Skid Plates
I think any skidplate is going to trap mud and snow, it is the nature of the beast.
I don't think the metalcloak is any better or worse in this regard.
