u-bolt style yoke....

Does anyone know the torque spec for u-bolts on 1310 pinion yoke? Thanks!

Tighten till you break them then back off a 1/4 turn All I do is with a tighten them with a 1/4in ratchit as tight as I can get them with a 3/8 not that tight more leverage with the handle The only thing I torque on the jeep is lug nuts + the skid plate at the same torque

Roughly 15-17 ft-lbs. Might want to use a little locktite for security. Overtighten them, and you risk deforming the caps enough to cause early u-joint failure....

I was going to try the 1/4" ratchet method like Capt said or tighten it to the strap type torque (14 ft-lbs).

Tighten until the lock washer bottoms out, then a wee bit more.

I used my yolk/straps as a skid at Gretchen's and they're still there.

Not enough room to get a torque wrench or a 1/4" ratchet behind the yoke.
Ended up using a ratcheting wrench and use Joe's method.
