Hellooo! New guy! New questions!

:-P :-P

Hey y’all! I just got my BSJ welcome message a second ago. Sweet!

Nice to meet everyone!

Two dumb questions:
  • I have a soft-top 2-door 2021 JL Willys with a few strategic upgrades that even other enthusiasts might need a keen eye to notice. For example, my axle has a half-inch more poke than normal. For the time being, at least, I like that it’s a sleeper. So what, exactly, is a “roll bar” in our BSJ equipment list? Is my factory “sports bar” a qualified roll bar? Or do I need to plan a welding project next?
  • I fear that I may have joined after the 101’s had already come and gone. Will there be more?

There’s no dumb question? Is this a riddle?

The roll bar question would be based on your trail choice, blue trails & green trails or Class 6 roads, you should be fine.

Factory Rol Bar is fine for All Class 6 trails (Un-maintained Roads in NH, VT, MA). You may be ok with Green/Blue trails in the parks. Anything beyond that you're taking more risks, so Sports bars (which typically upgrade the Stock Bars), would be for higher-level trails. A full replacement cage would only be for the much more advanced stuff (The runs where damage is Expected on any given run)...

The 101 is only in April each year, but look through the required Equipment list, and with the basic gear, sign up for one of the Class 6 runs and you'll have a great time. Just let the trail leader that you came in after the 101 and may need some pointers...

PS> Welcome to the club!

I’ll look out for those Class 6 runs, then. Thank you!
