Baystaters! Man I miss you guys. Ryan here, moved to CA a few years back and kept wheeling. There are a bunch of great trips tentatively on the calendar and I want to invite my baystate buddies to make the trek! I know it's a huge undertaking so want to give you plenty of heads up.

Oct 20-24th 2022: Hammers (Just north of LA, where King of the Hammers is run)
February 2023 (exact date TBD): Sand Hollow, Utah
May 2023 (exact date TBD): Moab, Utah
Early August 2023: Rubicon Trail (just outside Lake Tahoe)

Would love to get some of you guys and gals out here for the trips! By the way I'm moving back in a few years so these may be the only time I hit these trails before I'm a New Englander again. Hope some of you can make it!

I haven’t started planning my 2023 vacations, but it doesn’t hurt to begin now! The rubicon trail would be awesome! Shipping the rig might be the best course of action I think.

Yeah, I did the cross-country haul back in 2009 to Moab. It was definitely a once in a lifetime experience and I'd like to keep it that way.

Start saving I have been getting quotes to bring new buggy back from Nevada. Cheapest so far is $1300 one way.

No doubt it's not cheap or easy, but hopefully it's worth the effort for some of you and you can cross some trails off the old bucket list! I'll help in any way I can from out here to make it happen...

Hey Ryan, hoping to do the Rubicon in 2024 with a friend from Canada that wants to go out there. Planning on wheeling in South Dakota in the fall of 2023.

Ryan,

hope all is well, thanks for reaching out. Rubicon trail, could be a winner for me. I'll start the conversations with my wife now...

We went out west last august ( Vegas, Zion, Bryce, back to Vegas) and camped in this for a week.

then we went on to salt lake city, yellow stone and then grand Tetons.

Was a great trip, but the Rubicon trail would be just as exciting.

Modeler, you should look into going in 2023 to the Rubicon!

Curtis, that's a sweet rental for camping! How are you liking the stroker btw? It's a nice difference but my jeep is still a dog. I think my butt dyno got totally miss calibrated when I bought the RR with a 390hp Supercharged V8... just no comparison to the jeep. I also put 5.38s in when I put in the Dynatrac 60s and still didn't feel much of a difference. It's just a heavy pig.

Wish we could do 2023, but just not in the budget for next year.

BTW, where in CA are you? I'm in Redwood City, San Leandro, Elk Grove and Roseville this week.

I’m down in Orange County (Irvine specifically). One good thing is I can shoot to the top of Santiago Peak (5600 foot elevation) in about 2 hours from my front door.

Ah, dang, I figured you might be in So Cal based on what you did for work at the time you moved out there. Was down further south from you earlier this year in SD for the MLB Combine back in June.

stroker is a huge difference, made it a different vehicle. so much better to drive no more downshifting on the highway
