Research on JLU lift and tire combo

I don't know that a lift is in my immediate future, I sort of like the challenge of getting over stuff at my current height as my Rubi is already taller than my old TJ, but I have started doing some research and in the spirit of additional research I was wondering what other JLU Rubicon owners have done and liked. I was originally thinking about 2" lift and 35's but it seem like a lot of money to gain an inch. Who is running a little more and what kits? No need to say skid plates here, I have them on order. My Jeep will also need to be that daily driver and wheel a few weekends a year if that helps with the ideas.

I don't like you right now ;) I went everywhere everyone else did, but yeah, BFG AT are not ideal.

I thought you could fit 35s without a lift on JLURs?

Yes but they will rub when flexed in most cases, it's recommended to have some lift.

I have the same JLUR with a mopar 2” lift and 35” Wildpeaks. This is also our daily driver so was a good option for us. You’ll actually gain 2.5” to 3” with this setup measuring to the bottom of the fender. You can take a look at our setup at the next run if you’d like.

I guess this is a comparison between Mike Parator’s and Niko’s.

2” on 35’s VS 3” on 37’s. And everyone in the club has decided that the silver-grey is the only color to have. Haha

My Buddy in PA who runs at Rausch on the regular runs 37s and has a mild 2.5" lift and I dont believe much else done and can handle quite a bit there for not a ton of money invested. Personally if I was running a JL I would probably go that route as it was easy to do.

Good pics, I wanted red but couldn't find one within 150 miles with the options I wanted, so I decided to go in see if I could live with another color, so it was either the silver-grey, white or black at the time.

When I bought my JL there were still last year’s model on the lot and I asked the sales guy about it and he said “the colored ones don’t sell well.” Me: I don’t think you can say that, or just not that way.

Thanks, I would like a look as I was considering the Mopar lift. This is my daily driver as well and I want to be able to pass inspection. I have done the math and I think 3' plus 37's would be a stretch on the sticker situation.

Lisa takes the best shots for posers like me. 8-)

I cannot say enough good things about my MC Gamechanger and the way it handles on the trails and highways. Granted it was not cheap but that’s because it replaces just about everything at once. Longer springs and sway bar links aside, the system includes adjustable upper and lower control arms on all four corners which simplify caster and driveshaft pinion angle tweaking, adjustable front and rear track bars to recenter the axles under vehicle and relatively inexpensive shocks that are decent on the road [a bit too soft] and support maximum stretch on the trails.

And truth be told, I went with the 2.5”, not the 3.5”.
