Fourth time Jeep owner here with a new 2018 JLUR Wrangler, complimenting one GC and two Wranglers (YJ, TJ and JL). After nearly 20 years since my last, I'm psyched to finally modify one the way I want and wheel outside of Nauset Beach and an occasional logging road in Newfane VT.

Been busy this winter modifying in prep for member status:

- 2.5" MetalCloak Gamechanger with RockSport shocks
- 37" Toyo MTs on 18" Icon Alphas
- Tom Woods front driveshaft
- Warn Zeon 10s with Bubba Rope recovery rope/tree saver
- 10 lb PowerTank CO2 airtank
- Lots of MetalCloak under armor including full length skids, rock rails, diff cover skids, etc.
- Lots of YouTube wheeling videos

Cheers.

Looks like you got a good start . What gear did you change to or are you still on the 4.10 ? Auto or stick ? Mon dude , gotta cover more than the basics . Spill the beans FjR68

Touche Frank. I neglected to include wish list for 2020 which includes:

- 4.88 or 5.13 gears
- RCV front (and possibly rear) axles
- spare tire carrier beyond the tailgate (i know...i know...how could I?)
- rear bumper, possibly with carrier
- aux lighting with switch keypad (likely Swith Pro)
- some sort of roof rack that will work with my "old man" retractable power top

I went with the 8 speed auto, although I have only seen 8th a few times on the highway going down hill since the 37's went on.

Call me conservative but as a newb, my goal is to "wheel today so I can drive to work tomorrow".

SO, what am I missing?

Did you reprogram for the 37’s? That will help 8th gear

Absolutely. JL FlashCal installed and updated when the tires went on. Admittedly, I do not feel the urgent need to regear at the moment as I tend not to stomp the skinny pedal at stops and do not mind the lower RPM/slightly better MPG of the 4.10s. I'll take 7 out of 8 for now. Of course, I reserve the right to change my mind once I start playing on the rocks and in the mud.

Looked at it. Thanks. Unfortunately, overhead JK setup will not fit my JL with retractable SkyTouch soft top. Need to go with grab-handle or dash mounted keypad

Thanks Lisa. It's a work in progress that has left me with a pile of JLU parts growing in my basement that I eventually need to move out - Rubicon springs, shocks, uca's, lca's, track bars, skid bars, rock rails, front driveshaft, etc. All with less than 7k miles on them.
