So here is my heep from a early season snow run in 2009

Image
the mods you have made:
So far; 4" Treaflex coils with a RockKrawler long arms for the CA , 1" body lift, M.O.R.E motor mount lift kit ,Tummy tucked skid plates- tcase trans and engine skids, kilby gas tank skid, terraflex shocks all around. Upgraded to rubicon D44 front and rear. Tom woods custom drive shaft with a 60+ bind angle, Banks monster Exhaust -Bed lined tub, Basset black steel wheels 35" Goodyear MTR with Kevlars, ARB bull Bar front bumpa, and body armor rock rails.

Tell us about the mods you hope to make in the future. sleeve and gusset the front axles, cage upgrade, OBA system.... and who knows...
How long have you been baystate/offroading ? Can answer both since the 2009 "101 Class" so under a year now.
Is this your first jeep? No previously had: 89 YJ, 99 TJ Sahara, 91 XJ and currently a 08 4 door JK for my DD. All but the JK were rarely off the pavement. took the JK on a few early runs and it did very well for bone stock. Its far from paid for and didnt want to beat it too badly so bought the TJ...

Time to update the profile.

when I bought my jeep it was far from stock and far from Perfect. It was missing more than a few parts (rear bumper, rear sway bar, rear tow points third break light) and many many screws. It was fairly built but not maintained. Im not sure even the most leanient instpection staion would have passed me with the state it was in.
Image

I sorted thru a lot of those issues and had more than a few parts donated to me and lent so I could finally pass inspection and get on to the trail. A few of you may have even noticed slight squeaking from my rig a time or to.

Well along the way I made a few upgrades, some cosmetic some functional. Cosmetic being the ARB bull bar, fuctional being ball joints, u-joints, unit bearings a lockright locker in the front and my Currie HD steering upgrade a lot of this was done with the help of YOU good folks (thanks again!) This definately made things better but still there was that slight squeak some of you noticed. My heep came with the much sought after D30/d35 combo in 3.07 gearing and one of the POs had thrown an Eaton E locker in the rear. For some reason i choose not to hook that up. Id read the joy of the D35 and didnt want to be "that guy" being draged off the trail with a high lift holding the tire in after detonating the rear, so I started looking for a decent D44 for the back end. Well after 9months of looking I finally found a pair of Rubi Axles on the NEOW forum. Only "problem" was the rear had been trussed for the Rock Krawler 6" LA Kit. the shafts were Superior Alloy and it came with heavy duty diff covers.... what to do what to do...

Image
So what the hell I went for it. Tony (HeyZipyourfly) of NewEngland Jeepers agreed to install the full Rock Krawler LA kit along with the axles for a fairly reasonable price. He kindly documented the upgrade for me as well.
First he plucked all the low hanging fruit... needless to say all the old bushings were shot and wallowed out.
Image
One of the issues he ran into early was that a couple of the skid plate bolts had seperated from the frame. He could have easily just welded in a plate but instead insisited on doing things right. First he cleaned a little mud from the frame.
Image
then he oredered a upgrade kit from RockKrawler.

next he started installing the LA kit.

the rear 4 link was set up

next the front 3 link.

when all was said and done I had a heep with 4.10s and somehow an accurate spedo for the first time. The heep had a moderate death wobble and Tony did his best to correct it for the ride home, but sometimes the string method can only take you so far.

I had the front DS shortened a few inches by Brookline Machine in Andover MA and they also replaced the front yoke with a D44 so I can avoid at least one combo u-joint, they also gave the DS a nice high speed paint job. Nice work there!

Brought the heep to my freind and neighbor Ken of Superior Auto in Westford. Ken put it up on the lift and corrected some minor geometry issues (without even having take it for a ride :ugeek: ) managed to correct a fairly good dw issue- at 30-40mph there was significant hop  but sailed along great on the highway at 65mph (thanks again Chris for follwing me home and shaging me out there.) Ken also mounted my old 33 SS TSL radials to some new Basset rims which are actually a TJ bolt pattern that I had found for a good price on Jeepforum. soo glad to get rid of the spider traxx spacers...

I still need to hook up the air lockers but have the pump and switches. Just need some time and airlines now. Didnt have any issues on the trail ride yesterday and am LOVING 4.10s on 33s. With the 3.07s the thing was never moving at a good speed off road in 1st or 2nd. 1st is nice and torqey now... :D and best of all Ive been desqueaked. :geek:

Now runnig with 35" Goodyear MTRs with Kevlar and a superwinch epi9 finally fills the bread box in the ARB bumpa, took some cutting to get it in but it looks purtty up in front. Also updated the profile with a user ID name change. have used "jpcamb" for a long time as its almost always available on message boards, wonder why  Always been a fan of James Marshal Hendrix and the late grate Stevie Ray Vaughan so this is my homage to them. :D

It's more likely that somone with the screen name "JPCamb" would quote Jon Luc Picard than someone with the screen name "Voodoo Chile"
