Finally got my password straightened out, thanks to Amanda and Jason...

Kelly and I have been without a Jeep since 2014, she said to me a couple of months ago that we need to get a Jeep.
So I start researching, who would have thought that a brand new Jeep would cost over $40K?

When Kelly bought Kermit back in 2004 she only paid $23,500 including the winch!

So I figured we can't keep my Ram and buy a new Jeep. As I mentioned, I was researching, and found that a new JT Gladiator Sport S, with the Max Tow package can tow 7650 lbs! No need for the big Ram anymore, the JT can pull our camper at 6K lbs loaded.

So I pulled the trigger and ordered a new Gladiator this morning.

Saw a JT at 495 Jeep in Tewksbury on 35s with a shorty factory bumper and 2" mopar lift and it looked damn nice! Congrats! Maybe you can get an aftermarket Scrambler graphics wrap for it.

No room for the dog if it were a 2 door. My Ram is a crew cab, we're used to the space, the Gladiator seems small in comparison.

I got excited to think my friends were coming out to play . Nope ! Just glad there are some out there that thinks the new JT with one body configuration is enough to satisfy the Jeep world . Hope you have good luck with it. You hafta know an extra cab longer bed option not only would look better , you could put something other than a couple bags of groceries in the bed ! Just my opinion and I was wrong once ! FjR68

Welcome back, and it sounds like a nice rig that you ordered up. Looking forward to seeing what one might be capable of out on the trails.

this is what I saw in Lowell Doug, 43K base model with 10K of parts bolted on to it... 35s w Beadlocks, 2" mopar lift and rock rails and some other mopar goodies according to the sales guy. Nice stance for it...

Just a short update...

We took delivery Jan 8. Couldn't be happier!!
We installed a Magnaflow crawler series exhaust.
Installed a Cobra 29LTD CB using the console mount from Quadratec, along with a fender mount for the antenna.
I had picked up a set of Rubicon rock rails for cheap, just had to source hardware.

Parts that I have waiting for install:
QRC stubby bumper, found used local for short money.
Badlands 12K winch from HF. I've heard nothing but great reviews for this winch, and it was $200 off, plus I had a $100 HF CG!!
I have a set of OEM rear rock rails, once again local and for a good deal. And yet again no hardware...LOL
I ordered my JT with dual tops, but, we decided to run a Bestop Sunrider for hardtop (or run topless). So I made a deal with my dealer to trade them my NIB softtop for a set of OEM Jeep beadlock wheels.
I am still undecided which tires to run. I'm leaning towards the Cooper S/T Maxx 315/70R17.

The dealer also gave me a take off Rubicon suspension.
I have ordered a Ready Lift spacer lift, I want to retain my stock rear springs as we have Max Tow, and want to keep load capacity loss to a minimum.
I will run stock Rubicon springs up front to make up for the weight of the bumper and winch.
The Rubicon take off shocks will go on as well.

Future mods:
Core control arms and track bars
JKS swaybar discos
Synergy steering
Remove rear seat and add a flat floor
Full under belly skids
37" tires
Regear to 4:88
Add locking diffs

How has it been going from the full-size Ram to the Gladiator? What do you like and don't like so far?

I have also been looking at the Gladiator, as I really don't need the Tundra. I still have my TJ which still is only used once the salt is off the road.

I still have the Ram, although I haven't driven it in 2 weeks, I will be taking it to work tomorrow and Friday.
As one would imagine, the Ram and the Gladiator are worlds apart from each other.
Where the Ram is sure footed and extremely stable on the road, the JT is not, more so in windy conditions.
The Jeep is nimble, the ride is more car like. And while the Jeep is quick, the truck is much faster. I would estimate the truck has at least 4 times more torque than the Jeep, but only weighs 2K lbs more.
As far as economy goes, the truck does better,usually around 21-23 mog, while the JT does hit 20 on occasion, it hovers around 18-19 mpg.
There are more creature comforts in the Jeep which are nice.
