Two-way radio question

Hello everyone
My question is regarding my two-way radio.
Do these radios have to be programmed in order to use them on the trail with everyone else?
If so, how do i program them?
I bought the Midland GX Pro Series 50 channels with 142 privacy codes.
Thanks
John

I believe that BSJ-1 is the same as channel 5 in the FRS band. Others can perhaps confirm....I seem to remember this being said at one of the drivers meetings.

The radios we use , like CBs have specific frequencies for each channel. Learn how to scan your radio and when some conversation is taking place your radio will lock onto it and you can store the channel. Then the other important thing will be for you to know how to change channels in case we have a large group and use two freeks during the day. FjR68
