Recruiting the Next Generation of Jeepers

Unread post by MattJ »

I hosted a Jeep exhibit at a Scout event on Cape Cod over the weekend, spending three nights in the rooftop tent and cooking all of my meals next to the Jeep. There were 6,500 Scouts there, and I even saw Joe (ZAEDOCK) with his troop!

The Scouts had a lot of great questions about vehicles, camping and off-roading. Hopefully I inspired a few of them to join our ranks someday. Since this event was an all-state jamboree (called MassJam), I was proud to tell everyone about Baystate Jeepers! Next time I am planning to bring some BSJ stickers and Tread Lightly materials.

Hi Matt!
We had a great time! Every time we walked by, the kids were checking out the Jeep. Thanks for the display.

It really was a special experience to see so many thousands of Scouts and adult leaders together. The National Guard was there with their "Boot Camp" obstacle course and a Connecticut council brought ATVs, BMX bikes and some Traxxas RC cars. It was a great opportunity for me to teach kids from Massachusetts about Baystate Jeepers, the capabilities of a Jeep and the excitement of off-road recreation. I'm looking forward to the next one!
