Hello everyone!
My name is Frank and I just joined BSJ. I was at the open run on July 7th and thought you all were a great group to run some trails with. My off road experience goes back to the 80's when as a young gent I owned a Toyota Landcruiser FJ40. I learned many valuable lessons on the trails mostly through doing stupid things. Been high centered on a stone wall or two and remember pulling a Willys out of the mud after he pulled me out. Since then I owned a couple Cherokees and an FJ Cruiser. I went to Rausch Creek for the past four years as part of the FJ Cruiser community.
Fast forward to now, I saw the new Gen Jeep this Spring and was hooked. Tired of owning the FJ these last five years and was ready for a change. Tired of not seeing outside the cave or around the door off road, tired of not being able to roll down the window at highway speed (FJ owners will understand). No knocks against the FJ, it was a friggin' goat going up hills and never let me down, but now I was ready for some more comforts, upgrades and capabilities, so enter the Wrangler JL. I know I've gone long and would be happy to expound on the differences and what sold me on my Jeep sometime if anyone is interested.
Anyway, I traded the FJ in for a loaded JL Rubicon 2 door Sting-Gray soft top and am not looking back. I will be mounting my Fuel Anzas with 315/70 R17 BFG KO2 this weekend. Future plans are to add a 2.5" lift, skids, bumpers and sliders as parts and funds become available. Looking forward to meeting you all on the trails.
