Hi All,
I cam across a set of 5 Wrangler MT/R 285/75/16 mounted to American Classic steel wheels for $950. Just curious what your thoughts on this tire are? They will be on a daily driver. Seems like a fantastic price.
Thanks,
Carlo

Haven't had them myself, but have heard they ride well on the street.

Had them on mine for nearly 5 years. OK on the street, but loud, especially as they get worn. Hard to keep in balance. However, they performed very well on the trail.

I wonder what the issue is that makes them hard to keep in balance. It seems to be the major complaint about them.

Theories are that the Kevlar moves around a bit or it reacts temperature changes in a different way than the rubber does.

Beadballancing might help with that rather than the standard weights, but def need someone who knows what they are doing to do that part.

Beads don't help, the mtr's get out of balance laterally more than vertically. I tried. Went back to weights. As for the tires they where loud, new were ok balanced, after about 5,000 miles took a lot of weight. They were ok wheeling, I will say they held up well. But I baby my jeep. If just daily it they stay balanced better.
