Hi All,
Just became a member and looking forward to getting my JK Rubicon out on the trails. First Jeep and new to offroading.
Mostly stock for now. I put side steps on, but will be putting back the rock rails for the trails.
See you soon,
Dave

Welcome! You will be pretty capable as you are. I would recommend at least an engine skid, and trans skid if auto, as a first mod. I ignored that advice last year and it cost me an oil pan.

Welcome Al, I'd agree with Randy and consider skids especially if you're not going to lift or relocate anything right off the bat. Lots of good into and great people to be found in here. Are you thinking about going to the Jeep 101?

Thanks for the recommendation. Yes, I plan to be at the 101.

Welcome to the forums! Skids are a great idea if your staying smaller, but something that you need to investigate and see what your going to want to do and what your needs will be.

If your thinking that skids might be important , lay on the ground and look under the Jeep. Thats where they hide the most expensive parts , That may bump into something harder . Staying short makes for a great wheeler , but you tend to rely on the skids to do their job. Two doors have a big advantage over the 4 door. It will come down to what you want to try . The end ! FjR68
