JK recall for brakes

Unread post by Hoodoo Man »

saw this online today;
http://wheels.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/06 ... -minivans/

"In addition, about 285,000 2007?10 Jeep Wranglers are being recalled. The problem with the Jeeps, Chrysler says, is that the front inner fender liners may rub against brake lines and cause a leak. That could result in a ?partial loss? of the brakes, the automaker told safety agency. Chrysler said it was not aware of any accidents or injuries related to the problem.

For more information or to file a safety complaint go to the government Web site."

I saw that, and then got a recall notice. It was for the trailer hitch for the third or fourth time...

I wonder what's on the other side.

Trailer hitch or tow bar? I keep getting a recall notice for a tow bar issue. I've been thinking of going to the dealer and demanding that they give me one, since I must have paid for it. It should be worth a few bux on e-bay, maybe.

Girl I work with has had her 2 year old JK 4-dr in for random no start problems four times now. Last time it was in she was told it was a known problem in the JK. Sounds like fun!

A couple of months ago I was at the dealership I told them about getting the towbar recall. They did something on thier network and It stopped. The brake line issue sounds like they should be rerouted but will probably just get a big bandaid for the area that rubs.
