SteveB and Tyler

Unread post by SteveB »

Hi!, Steve and Tyler B, just discovered I never did an 'intro' in the old forum, so here goes.
Members since 2006, also intro'd to offroading.

Our current ride bought in May'10:

Bought first Jeep in 2006, it was also a 2001 XJ(traded):Tyler rides shotgun on most trail rides.

I really miss this Jeep, it took a licken' and kept on ticken'. Rarely got stuck, even when following bigger dawgs.

I glanced at this topic and said "Hey. I thought Steven Tyler just went into rehab?"

STEVE! Good to see you again. Hey - what kind of front bumpah you have on that bad-boy? I'd like to maybe drop a winch on my XJ and I like the bumpah you have

It is a Trail Ready, it came on the Jeep when I bought it in August. they have a model w/o the brush bar as well. I am very happy with the fit/finish on their bumpaaaaahs. I have the rear also, only wish that had a 2" receiver integrated in to it.

'86 was the first year for throttle body injection on the XJ and MJ 2.5 four popper. The 2.8 V-6 (Chevy sourced engine) had a carb all three years it was used ('84-'86).

Steve,
The one engine I forgot to mention was maybe you got the way cool factor but that's about it diesel???

Sorry Scott, NOT for sale........I've been looking for one of these for a while. Needs brake work, tires and little else.
John, No luck on getting a diesel......it is the 2.5Fi inline 4, 5 speed-which if my research is correct means the Aisin AX-5, Of which I haven't heard any good news.
It is really clean though, a small rust spot on the drivers floor and only 97000 miles.

Jeebus that's clean!

It looks awesome. Keep the 2.5L (they're hawt) and the AX5 will serve you well if you don't beat it off road. Just don't use GL5 gear oil. Pennzoil Synchromesh, Redline MT90, or 10W30 or 40 weight motor oil.
