My right rear shock hanger is rusting out, has been for a while. It is to the point now where the shape has deformed on one side from me slamming it around. The remaining metal is getting too thin to support the abuse. I have seen replacement shock hangers on frame sections that you weld on. Is there an option other then replacing the entire frame?

Re: help me!!!!
That sounds pretty bad, Not sure you could do anything short of replacing the whole or part of the frame. look for more rust and make a decision on how much of the frame is gone and see if you can patch, or need to replace...petertohen wrote:Is there an option other then replacing the entire frame?

There are always options available, but you need to repair any frame damage for safety.

Re: help me!!!!
Do you know how to weld ? Do you have a welder that will handle the Job ? Cut and grind off the old mounts, line up the new ones and use either a wire feed or a stick welder. Don't forget to stitch weld and to alternate sides.
If you are worried about heat transfer or the bearings, just wrap a wet towel around the axle tube on either side of the work area, 4-6 inches from the mounts.
