Tell us about the mods you have made.
4" suspension lift, 1" body lift, 35" Dick Cepek FC2's on Mickey Thompson rims, Smittybilt 8000lb winch, Advance adapters transfer case linkage bracket (Works awesome but did need some welding to get to work, now linkage is nice and smooth finally :D ), Volant header and Lous Custom cat back system (Header was a lot of fun to install :|)

Tell us about the mods you hope to make in the future.
In the future I plan on installing a locker and new gears (front or back locker? Im thinking front first?)
Im looking for a front bumper with d-ring mounts so i can properly use my snatch block, SYE, HD Tie rod.
This list could go on and on...
How long have you been a member of Baystate?
15 days

How long have you been offroading?
15 years or so

Is this your first jeep?
This is my first jeep and i %$*@ing love it! Ive had it for about 7 years and hope to have it forever

Welcome James!!

I would do the rear locker first. When climbing an obstacle most of the vehicles weight is transfered to the rear leaving the front tires spinning (locked or not), if the rear is locked you have a better chance of getting over the obstacle.

Hey James, I'm another vote for locking the front first. Unless you're doing wicked steep climbs the weight transfer that Doug is talking about is less of a factor. I've done it both ways and found that I had better all around results from locking the front first, even on moderately steep climbs and definitely on step climbs (yes, step not steep).

Greetings James. Welcome to the party.

70+/-% of your forward traction comes from the rear (from the Powertrax manual). Another vote for rear locker first.

Don't forget to pack some extra shafts for your Dana 35. ;)

James has other issues to worry about...he bent the draglink on his TJ at the 101. Pretty good job too!!
