Anyone good with this? My AC wasn't as cold as I'd like. I use it ALL the time with 2 kids. We tried to add more with the can, but I think the guage on the can was bad..

I think we OVERFILLED. I called a place that charges $200 to drain, put in a dye, and fill. I just can't swing that right now.

The AC is blowing HOT air which is why I'm thinking it's overfilled.

Can anyone help? You know wanna help your president... Do it for the children!!

Is the compressor actually kicking on or is there a problem there?

When was the last time you put a can of oil in the system as well. So many people forget to do that periodically.

So it was kind of cold before you added any? There may be a leak, as the shop thinks, that's why they will do the die. If it is leaking I'm pretty sure it's way more than $200 to fix. That said, most people just add it when they need to. If it was "not as cold as you'd like" but not HOT, you're probably right, you over filled. It's easy to do. The valve you connected the can to is like a tire valve ... it presses in pretty easy with a screwdriver ;) If it gets on a finger or two it could burn.

Even if its over filled it would continue to cool if it was cooling before. You are supposed to fill with can in upright position to add the refrigerant as a gas. If you had the can upside down you would add liquid and stall the compressor. Let the car idle , then select MAX air and see if you hear a click and a load on the engine. Maybe the idle will change. The car being only four yrs. old should not have needed refrigerant . Oil should only be added after you pull a vacuum on the system. If it still wont work , get a stool and see if the compressor is running. You may have blown the fuse if you added liquid. FjR68

Can was held upright... then hubby flipped it for like barely a second -- so a little fluid may of gone in..

Ah.. It was cool air.. now its HOT air.

the downside about this jeep is that the hood doesn't open up as far as a wrangler!

If on max air you cant see the compressor turning , Id make sure you have power going to it. If it was cool before adding and now its hot ,it has to be the compressor not turning. Check fuses and the control on the dash. It wasnt adding one can or a partial that caused this. FjR68
