Will 33" X 12.50" tires fit on a 15 X 8 rim, or should I go with a 15 X 10?

I have a set of 33's on 15x7's which works well. IMO, 15x10's are too wide for a 12.5" tire. I'd go with the 15x8's.

yeah any time i go to a tire warehouse to check prices on mudders they always tell me to get bigger rims, they keep saying its ideal to use rims that are "2 thinner than the tire..

2x what Joe said... Stick to the 15x8!
At lower tire pressure a narrower wheel retains the bead better and the wheel is protected from trail debris by the sidewall bulge better.
I used to run 34x10.50 on 15x8 wheels... Had no end of problems at low pressure -- beads becoming unseated ... Changed to 15x7 wheels (w/ the same set of tires) and haven't lost a bead at 10 psi yet.

The tire guys will tell you the wider wheel will maintain the proper cross section and keep the tire wearing more evenly (assuming the tire pressure/alignment/etc... is right). If I was running on the street I might follow that advice, but if you're going to plan to do any significant amount of offroad use there are other considerations...

X3, you want 8" rims
And don't forget ride quality! With my swampah's on 8" wide rims, you'd swear you're riding in a Buick*

X 4. I run 33x12.5x15 Dunlop Mud Rovers on 15x8 rims, no problems airing down to 8 PSI
