I've done it. Seals don't line up well though.

I used to run full soft doors with my YJ with a hardtop. Never had any issues

Are there not two different doors > A squareish top corner and a rounded one ? At the opening side. FjR68

The YJ's soft uppers for use with the factory soft top had the square corners.

I have soft doors that I now use exclusively with my hardtop on my YJ. I had to mix together TJ soft uppers with YJ soft lowers. Required some modification to make it work, but the seal isn't too bad for my purposes.

I'll try to put a half hard door on and a soft upper and see how it fits my TJ's hardtop and let you know.

I've read mixed things.. Also.. they sell 2 different types of hardtops? Looks like one for full steel doors and one for half doors?

In the end... I have my uncles Jeep I am trying to sell. I may just put it in auction and take his hardtop as he also has a soft top underneath it.

i ran into this problem when i worked at 4 wheel parts. the only way to get a good seal now on a yj with a hard top is full steel doors. or buy a tj upper door cut and relocate the 3 prongs its not perfect but it works. best top and smitty built and actually dropped manufacturing that upper door about 7 years ago because they weren't selling. now there is one more route you can go if you want a hardtop and half doors that is getting a tj hardtop and doors

I ended up just selling the top. I'm bumming because it looked brand new, but I don't have plans to do full doors or even the glass uppers. I figured it would just leak in the rain!
