Decal application

Unread post by DDewar53 »

I bought a fairly large sticker for Donna's Jeep - one of those stars inside a circle, about 22" in diameter. Came with a paper backing on the sticky side, and looks like a clear vinyl backing on the "good" side. It wasn't real expensive, but I don't want to mess it up. Anybody got any tips for a tight, bubble free application technique?

Thanks,

I have never done one that large but one thing I have found with all of those types is the warmer the surface is the better. So if you can do it in a heated or warmed garage that will help. At the least park the Jeep in the sun for awhile.

When i apply mine, I usually have a person with me smooth it out as i put Them on. I know that is not a rocket science technique, But its worked every time. lol

Good luck!

Here's a video that will get you started. Although it's applied to glass, the method is the same for metal.

Google "applying large decals" and you'll find all kinds of information.

Thanks, guys. I'll post pics when I finally get around to it.
