High Ft-Lb Torque Wrenches

Unread post by schwalby »

So I have a project were I need to torque a bolt to 430 lbs and others to 320 lbs. However can't find any to do this. Could rent the 430 lbs if that is an option but need to buy the 320 lb one because I will need it for maintenance.

From what I see looking around (Northern Tool, Amazon) it looks like once you go > 300 Lbs-Ft you're in the 100 - 600 range. I don't see anything that will do 320 but not 450 (I'm sure one exists, but how much time do you have to look around)? I'm seeing a couple, in the $200 to $300 range.

You could always torque it to 160 twice :banana-guitar:

I was able to find the 100 - 600 on Amazon this morning, not happy about spending that much though. booger part is I am going to need something to check the 320 bolts a few times a year at least.

maybe one of the chains that has the "free" tool rentals has one. It would be a PIA to go a couple of times a year, but would save some $
