Baystate Jeepers

Hey guys, I just bought a 99 TJ about a month ago. A few days ago I took a steel wire brush to the rear trailing arms and took off a whole bunch of rust, and found a big hole (see pic).

I've been doing some research and it seems like Safe T Caps may be my best option. Does anyone have any experience with this? Unfortunately I do not know how to weld, so I'll have to take it to a shop. The best I can do is clean the area up as best I can before hands. I live in Winchester, about 15 minutes north of Boston, does anyone know of a good welder in the area that won't charge me an arm and a leg?

If anyone wants to take a look and help out, I'll throw plenty of pizza, beer, burgers, and hot dogs your way!

Carl McFly on this forum had his frame repaired. Came out really nice!

never ever wire brush a TJ frame! its the quickest way to destroy it! Welcome to THAT club.

Next up, torque box...it's looking awfully thin
