AC leak questions

So I'm trying to get the AC running again in my TJ...

#1: I had to splice a high-pressure soft line, and while I think my repair is holding just fine, I am looking for a good hydraulic or AC line repair kit. I've seen a few of them but they are mostly for hard lines. Any suggestions? Full replacement is an option, but an expensive and PIA one.

#2: There is still a small leak, and I'm not sure from where (think it might be the coupler between the lines and the condenser). Does anyone have a good way of testing? I have a refrigerant with UV dye on it's way, but are there any other good options? Also, is there a recommended "stop leak" for AC systems?

If you don't have one I have a hand held UV light.
I've tried the stop leak stuff. Didn't seem to help. I just ended up dumping a new can of R134A into the systems each year in my old cars.

Have you ever looked under Ryan's hood? If it's an option, he's doing it!

Plus, defrost can be necessary when running a hard top and full doors, which I believe he does in the winter... and, I still use my AC in the summer ;)

You should be able to find the leak with the die. Instead of stop leak I prefer to use seal conditioner . Kind of like makes the seals more pliable and usually stops the leak that way. In a perfect world the system once charged would be good forever. With your under hood temps Im sure it a seal (O-Ring) and not something major. Are both caps still in place on the high and low lines. May be a schraider valve leak from dirt. Once in a while its the seal on the compressor and if you replace it , it should also get a new accumulator and dryer . Yes I did AC in another life , or so it seams. FjR68
