I checked with my friend Manuel, but couldn't find this.
Donna's 2015 JKU has that auto trans that you can also shift manually by bumping the shifter left or right when in the D position.
When you put it in D, if you accidentally bump it, it goes into manual mode and stays there, you have to manually shift from that point on, unless you go into N and back into D. So I have 2 questions.
First, is there some way to lockout the manual thing, so that even if you bump the shifter it will stay in drive?
Second, if there's no way to lock it, is there a way to get it back into automatic mode without having to shift into N?
Thanks

No, you can't lock out manual mode.
Our WK, it will go back into au to if you bump it back to the highest gear.

Re: Stocker Question
On my 2012 JKU auto you just push shifter all way to right and hold for second or two. You will notice the Jeep will revert from manual setting back to automatic.

Re: Stocker Question
a programmer may be able to eliminate the issue/delete the option. I have not owned an automatic JK.. the commander did the same irritating thing though...

Re: Stocker Question
Looks like if I bump right, and hold for 2 seconds it will go back to drive.
Jeff - don't want to delete it, as it could come in handy some time. Just want to lock it out temporarily so that accidental bumping won't bounce it into 2nd gear at highway speeds.

Re: Stocker Question
You don't want to delete the option, because it is handy when off-roading to keep it in 1st in certain conditions. It does get quite annoying when your passenger accidently bumps it OFTEN! From what I've experienced if it is bumped it goes down one gear, so if on highway in 5th and it gets bumped the transmission goes down to 4th. You will feel the difference but you can shift back up or just hold to the right 2 seconds and car goes back to auto.

If it's a system like my Tundra, it won't let you go into 2nd at highway speed. If it can't do it safely it will angrily beep at you.
