Check this out - the cleanest, low-buck mirror mounting solution I've seen
It's a bent, threaded rod, capped with an acorn nut on one end and a couple hex nuts on the other end. Covered in a plastic sleeve and a clamp to mount a mirror, this also sports the optional paint accents to really give it that "yeah, I spent a lot on this" look

The short answer? I don't know. I haven't made them yet. But I was told they're stable, this came from the guy who owned the JKU. And I'm guessing the stability has something to do with this.......Voodoo Chile wrote:how do they do on the highway? thats the issue I have had with all of the home brew stuff Ive tried there...
looks to me like you can really torque it down. I mean, it's a threaded rod. Unless the nuts were aluminum, you could probably torque them as tight as you want/ need

Re: Homemade Budget Mirror Mounts
I think hes talking about vibration. I would look into solid rod , bent and threaded . Couldnt you use a pair of mounts from a CJ ? Those gotta be a dime a dozen. Just sayin FjR68

yup, that's the plan Got sidetracked on some other things (loose track bar, something whistling Dixie, you know, the usual) but hope to get a set of these builtFrank wrote:I think hes talking about vibration. I would look into solid rod , bent and threaded
