Just wondering which recovery straps you all use? Smitty/rugged ridge/pro comp????
I don't have a winch (yet) so I want/need a good recovery strap. I know I show have one that's good for 20k lbs. just want to make sure I get a good one.

Thanks.

Not exactly sure the type of strap your looking to purchase. I would recommend a strap that will stretch like a snatch strap or the ARB recovery strap Ralph listed. I have a 30' Rugged Ridge recovery strap, but it is more like a tow strap. Was cheap and has served its purpose a couple times. I have found it hard on the vehicle and driver's body when needing to give a little yank because they are not made to stretch.

As I learned more about straps, I asked for and got a 30' Smittybuilt snatch strap for Christmas. Haven't used it yet so I can not state for certainty the effectiveness of this brand snatch strap. It is supposed to stretch under load and the kinetic energy will aid better in pulling a stuck vehicle while reducing the jarring effect on both vehicles. I've seen the Bubba Rope in action and it appeared to work great; however, I don't have the money for that brand.

One thing to keep in mind you do NOT want to get anything with metal hooks. They need to look just like the one Ralph posted.

How about the CESS straps? Any good? Oh. And I know about getting one without hooks. I have one that a friend gave me but don't plan to use it. Thank you though.

Just be sure you buy a "Recovery" or "Snatch" strap. They are elastic.
Do not buy a "Tow" strap. They are not (generally) elastic nor made for what you need.
Re-enforced loops are a plus to reduce wear.
