heeelloooo bay state jeepers!
hello all! my names corey
ill admit i signed up to the forum a bit ago but i never had the time to actually introduce myself, or have a picture of my jeep to present.
i own a 1989 jeep wrangler Yj. built from the frame up!
since ive had it ive swapped out the motor from the 4.2 to 4.0. put some bigger shackles on, 1 1/4 inch shackles if i remember correctly.. ranchero steering stabilizer shock, 31 inch tires, 17 inch rims. crown automotive tubular front bumper. euro style tail lamp kit.
not to many extreme mods done to her
mods i have planned for later are a transmission swap from the tf999 auto three speed to the ax15 five speed. have pretty much all the parts together now actually!
some light bars, tow winch. and possibly a D44 rear axle with a locker.
not to many heavy mods that i will probably do to her.
im a new member here at baystate, fresh recruit! i actually got introduced to this forum when one night when i was out to dinner, someone stuck a card right on my driver window. haha
i havent been offroading long, still kinda new to this. ive gone to go topless day 2 years ago and offroaded there, will be attending again this year as well!
no this is not my first jeep. first one ive owned yes, but briefly i owned an 88 jeep comanchee pioneer 2wd 2.5L but i had to sell her sadly.

Re: heeelloooo bay state jeepers!
Hi Corey!
You just missed our Jeep 101 training course we held 10 days ago. Would have been a great opportunity to get to meet some great Baystate people, learn some off roading stuff and get to run some nice trails.
Your Jeep is virtually the same as my first Jeep - a red 1989 YJ with the 4.2 and the ever delightful Peugeot 5 speed. My first build started out just like yours with some 31's and a shackle lift.
Sure hope you can have the opportunity to check us out, join the club and wheel your rig.

Re: heeelloooo bay state jeepers!
Thanks guys
Well.. it was a YJ no doubt but to get more detailed the one I started off with was originally the light metallic blue color. Previous owner didn't like the blue and sprayed flat green over it.. I ended up building one YJ from two haha what was red is now orange. Timing chain on my 4.2 magically stretched on me so that's why I have the 4.0
I've heard about those Peugeot transmissions haha not really even sure why they ended up in jeeps in the first place
But yeah, I'll definitely do that wheeling is what I want to do haha
If I can make it to the trails I'll definitely try my hardest to be there!
I look forward to wheeling with all of you!
Darn, well I'm sure there will be more than one of those course gatherings so I'll try and make it to the next one if possible. In the mean time I'll just have to carefully learn as I go!Kurt wrote:Hi Corey!
