Hi all
I still have DW on my jeep. Chris from Elias said I have a handful of bushings that are bad on the front control arms and track bar, I recently replaced my tie rod and need an alignment as well. Anyone free this weekend or one night next week to help teach me how to replace the bushings and do a tape measure alignment? Would really like to do more work on my own. I can use my neighbors shop with a lift and air tools or drive somewhere local. Will provide pizza and beer and am more than willing to have other newbs shadow us....
Thanks!
Jeff
i live in westford MA fwiw....

I'd love to help, but I'm moving my Sister-in-Law tomorrow. So, given the choice between moving and wrenching...... no contest, I'd rather wrench!!!!!!! Working on the F-150 Sunday.

Good news, death wobble is no mystery
If its DW, it will be front control arm bushings/joints or track bar bushings/joints. More likely track bar. Other things to check are the bolt holes in your control arm and track bar brackets if they are possibly wallowed out. The bolt shouldn't have any play in the holes at all really.
I don't have time this weekend but I could sometime next week.

Well Ray and I found the track bar was a little loose and that helped some, but Chris the lead tech at Elias found the following bushings were shot: The track bar bushing at the axle end, left front lower control arm both joints, left Front upper joint at the axle.
Due to some communication and shipping issues Elias was unable to replace the parts for me that I got from RockKrawler and I would like to do this work as much as possible myself... The shocks, tie rod ends, ball joints and unit bearings are all in good shape and fairly new so I would be willing to bet Chris is correct about what needs to be changed out to rid my ride of the hippy hippy shake.... I think most of the wallowed out holes have been beefed up and addressed so its down to some bushings and a decent alignment to make my ride more streetable...
So whos up for some beers and pizza?
