Lots 'o OBA

My OBA is awesome, one of the best mods I've done. Looking at options for beefing up the air capacitor. Right now I have a 2.5 gallon tank in my 'trunk' but was thinking of adding another 2.5 or preferably 5 gallons of capacity, so when I run air tools they don't get gassed so fast. If I do this, I'll plumb in a valve so the additional tanks are only used on demand

Or the bigger question is, will it make much of a difference? A good impact gun draws about 7 CFM soooo if I'm doing my HS math right, that works out to....... ummmm.......... 1 gallon per second?!?!..... holy chit that's a lot of air. So even with a 7.5 gallon setup I'd be lucky to get 4 - 5 seconds of high power from a good gun? Unless my math is wrong and I'm sure someone will point it out

Anyone running multiple tanks or have ideas? Anybody mount an air tank under a TJ?

Do you have a hand throttle?
It makes a HUGE difference in air output.

Pressure difference matters too Carl.... If you don't have a regulator you may want to add one.

Tx guys. I'll start with the basics (hand throttle). Makes sense, more RPM's = more volume. And yup, got the regulator base covered

Tx again :handgestures-thumbupright:

Most guns 3/8ths or 1/2 in only require 90 psi to hit full potential . The shut off safety switch is probably 125 or 135. Turn it down and gain run time. You should easily get two wheels off before even noticing any difference. Or , you got a big gun ! FjR68
