For those who are not yet aware, Evelyn Howe passed away on Sunday

Apparently, she was walking along the shore with friends when a wave swept one of her friends into the water. Evelyn went in to help him, neither survived

Don - Thanks for posting this, I had PM'ed the BOD and talked to John earlier. I am still in complete disbelief, shock and still not sure what to say; just trying to process. John is gathering further details regarding the service.

Like I said... still don't know what to say...

I will never forget her wearing flip flops on snow runs or giving John a cookie on her first club run after he baptized her tow strap. RIP.... :(

I was on the seacoast all day, with crappy cell/internet connection and sporadic ability to find anything. I did read the story, didn't see any details regarding a service. I would like to propose on some Saturday or Sunday we do a club street run to Gloucester. Need to think on details, but this is just something I think she would have liked. Us, coming together, to her beaches/Gloucester and saying a few words and enjoying the day.

I'll miss her spirit, her enthusiasm, her laughs and her smile.

I don't think they have arranged an official service as of yet. It sounds like they had a local rememberence. I would be willing to help with a benefit run for Tim.... a nice write up about her below.

Our condolences to all of you that lost a friend.
What she did was truly heroic.

I had written on her wall on Facebook, her brother reached out to me, here is the resulting information;

The services will be Thursday evening 4-8 p.m. at the Ross Funeral Home in Wrentham, MA; http://www.rjrossfuneralhomeinc.com/fh/ ... h_id=11687 (They just finished with the F.Home themselves within the last 30 minutes, so her info will take a little time to appear)

Funeral will be at the Congregational Church in Wrentham, MA on 1 East Street, at 10 a.m. Friday.

I will put more info as I get it.

He and Tim, her son, have NO intention of giving up her Jeep, and would like to do some sort of ride with her in mind. Her ashes will be spread in Gloucester Harbor at some point in the future as well. They plan on making the Jeep their new project. I want to make sure we as a "family" help them whenever and wherever we can.

Kelly -

Regarding a ride, it needs to have/involve flip flops.

Thanks for posting the details of the service.

Carol + I are very sad to hear of Eve's passing. We met her, Carl & Jeff on a ENH toy run in Henniker, N.H. back in 2009 to the best of my recollection. In fact Carl's signature is from that fun day and I am parked next to him. We could not believe how nice she was and wheeling in her flip flops with 2 feet of snow on the ground!!
Rest in peace Eve and God Bless You...........
