Drive shaft to long??

Completed the install of the AA SYE and it doesn't appear that the custom drive shaft is going to fit.
Notice in the following photo, that it appears that the DS might end up being completely compressed when connected to the axle yoke. Now I haven't removed the rear upper control arms, but I don't think I am going to gain much extra length.
Anyone else run into this before?? If needed could a drive shaft shop cut it down further?

Don't run it compressed! they can be cut down by a drive shaft shop. I assume you got it used? Looks like a regular SYE, an extreme teraflex SS SYE may have gotten you enough to use that shaft as is.

Yeah, don't run that. You WILL destroy something the first bump you hit. A driveshaft shop will charge you short money to cut that down, just get a measurement from the center of the t-case yoke to the center of the diff yoke.

Scott - It is a regular style AA SYE (couldn't pass on the price).
Cutting down the driveshaft, is this something that can be done while you wait and what should I expect to pay for the service?

Brookline Machine
http://www.brooklinemachine.com/ but there's probably a shop closer to you. I don't know how long it takes to cut down a shaft or have had it done but I've heard that the service is in the $50 range.

Every jeep is different. Look at tom wood's website, it'll tell you exactly how to measure the shaft.
