It's back and bigger than ever. My highway shakes are worse that your worst bender. I really need to get this worked out before RC. I know I have a blown out rear shock (passenger side), and have a full set of replacement shocks on order. I also picked up a set of street tires, the stock XJ flavor. Going to bolt them on after I do my shocks and hit the highway. If neither of those fix my shake, I'm running out of weekends before RC and worst case........ I might need to...... (gulp).....
From what I remember, it could also be a bad front DS (?), rear pinion angle, maybe even a bad CA? Anything else I should be looking at while I'm under there enjoying the scenery? Just an FYI if I can't get this nailed down this weekend, I'm doubtful for helping at the 101. There's only a few weekends before RC and I need to make the best of them

Re: The shakes
Check...
- Upper an Lower control arms for worn joints, loose bolts, egged bolt holes
- Track bar ends and bolts
- Drag link & Tie rod for play, sloppy joints
- Excess play in the steering box
- Ball joints for excess play
- Wheel bearings for play
- Steering Stabilizer. Disconnect one end and make sure there isn't any slop in the cylinder action.
- Wheel toe in/out
You are welcome to bring it over and we can go thru it

Re: The shakes
Kurt that would be awesome! I could use another set of eyes on this. If you have time this weekend, I can be there whenever. I can't pinpoint the source but if I had to guess, I'd say it's coming from the back. Or at least I can't feel it start in the steering wheel. I know that blown out shock isn't helping and I have a full set that should be here today but I'm not convinced that's the only problem. If Sunday's a better day for you, I can replace the shocks on Saturday and take that off the table

Re: The shakes
Any time this weekend is fine with me. Friday thru Monday. Long weekend off for me.
I could use a hand bleeding the brakes on the YJ so it would be a win-win!
