99 TJ Exhaust Manifold Replacement

I am about to attache replacing my exhaust manifold as it has developed the unavoidable crack on one of the joints by the collector. Has anyone done this on an older TJ? I am trying to anticipate any specialty tools or parts to have on hand before I begin. I am concerned about haveing any trouble with the nuts and bolts on the manifold itself. I don't want to break bolts or damage any studs.

Also I am planning on using a relative cheap ($188) OEM style cast iron manifold. Does anyone have any insight if this is sufficient. My Jeep is a daily driver and my next plan is doing a CAT back exhaust (flowmaster) system.

The factory unit lasted 12-13 years, so you'll be good for a while using the same replacement.

Nothing special about replacing it. You might have a few corroded studs, so use some penetrating oil and you should be fine.

With the help of a warm sunny Saturday and PB Blaster, I was able to remove by intake and exhaust manifold and reinstall new manifold in one afternoon, about 4 hours = $650 saves in labour and shop parts mark up. Now to figure out the cat back system.
