Spring Eye Bushings

I have polly now , and have a lot of torque steer from the rear. My old bushings were rubber. If you horsed it on or off the throttle you would get it slightly. Now its major ! I thought the polly bushings were supposed to be stiffer ?? Do you know where I can get rubber bushings ? The axle is still spring under. Thanks FjR68

Torque steer from a SUA rear?

Sounds like something else is borken.

Every thing is brand new, springs , mounts, bushings,U-bolts. I think its flexing the polly joints. Looking out the side, on engagement of the clutch it will chatter the tires as I have a bent finger in the pressure plate. When you throttle into it you can see the wheel move forward and if you let off quickly you can see it move rearward. I have 35 # of torque on the mount and shackle bolts. I had 3 in springs now 4in . Dont know if that matters. I hate it ! Thanks FjR68

Frank, poly bushings should have less movement than rubber. I would also check the center pins. A borken one would cause fore/aft movement.

I actually replaced the brand new ones with brand new longer ones to accept the 4 degree shims. I had to drill out the frame mounts to accept 9/16th bolts instead of the 1/2 bolts. I dont get it but after vacation I will look at everything again. Thanks DUDES ! FjR68

I talked with the Mfg of the spring and they said I didnt get the sleeves that go through the bushings at the frame mounts. They sent me 4 nice gold looking ones that fit the 9/16th bolts but no way in bell are they going through the bushings ! The bolt is fairly tight to begin with and is why I thought they didnt need sleeves. Whats an idiot to do ???? Am I right to think there should be a sleeve or not. FjR68

I've always had sleeves in the bushing in the rigs I've messed with.
Maybe some lube and a BFH will get'm in there

The bolts should be antisiezed when installed into the sleeves. The sleeves are tightened down and aren't supposed to move. The bushing should be lubed where the sleeve goes through to promote movement and flex. If you don't use a sleeve, the bolt will wear the bushing down in short order and cause fore/aft axle movement.
