All-Around Machinist- unique opportunity

A manufacturer located in Randolph MA has a unique opportunity for an experienced all-around machinist. This position will operate a small in-house machine shop that supports our manufacturing and will work independently on repair, continuous improvement, and R&D projects. The ideal candidate will have 5 years experience using lathe, milling machine, and other machine shop equipment and also be familiar with basic fabricating and welding practices. This position demands a highly motivated, organized, hard worker who is not afraid to think out side of the box. A trade school diploma, basic CAD/computer skills and knowledge of conversational CNC programming is a plus.

Highlights of the job include.

? Setup up & PM of metal forming and trimming equipment
? Fabricating small fixtures & tools from drawings, sketches, verbal instructions and your own designs
? Fabricating prototypes for R&D
? Overseeing the machine shop operation including tools, material, parts, etc.
? Working with Machine Mechanics to repair or improve production machines.
? Working with Manufacturing Engineering on improvement projects
? Working with outside machine shops as needed
? Investigating and purchasing material, tools, and cutters as needed.
