thought about throwing it in the trailer for camping/wheeling trips. it would make a nice option without having to find a gas station. thoughts/opinions?

Have you checked out Rotopax? Smaller capacity, but spill proof and easy to hard mount. You could always stack a couple 3 gallon ones.

For storing in the trailer, looks like a great idea. Since most of the space it takes up is vertical it shouldn't really take up much room. I've been contemplating some Rotopax cans to mount on the heep, but I've honestly never used more than a 1/2 tank on a trail ride, even on a full day run so it makes more sense to have a large capacity tank and just leave it in the trailer.
