local driveshaft shops

Unread post by Baseshakers »

Can anyone recommend a local driveshaft shop? I've gone to jon's shafts and stuff in NH but I'd like to find something closer. Fronts will need to be lengthened once I install the Atlas. I've picked up u-joints from these guys but have no idea how they are for driveshafts: http://www.brooklinemachine.com/

Brookline are highly regarded in New England 4 Wheelers. I believe Lucas uses them in his KOH car.

I've had great luck with Montrose Machine in Wakefield. In fact, I'll be having them build my front shaft in the next couple of weeks.

I've used the Brookline Machine in North Andover a couple times, they were highly recommended by John Wall Jr.(road race/NASCAR).

thanks for all the opinions. i was going to order a tom woods for the rear, but maybe it makes more sense to just buy local. i assume CV quality will be similar?

Senior was the one that got me into road racing to begin with. Bought my first brand new car ('86 Capri 5.0L) through him after spending time with his silver '85 with the American Flag scheme painted on it shortly after he'd brought it back from a run at Sebring. Scared the hell out of Kevin Maclean, the salesman (still remember his name after all these years after the torture run I took him on as a test drive). :music-rockout:

Got to meet Steve Hmiel and Jack Roush through them at NHIS and Watkins Glen. :banana-guitar:

There's also North shore Axle & Machine. I've used them in the past, he's treated me well. He quoted me a price to rebuild a DS, turned out it needed more parts. He ended up eating the labor & gave it to me for the price of the parts.
