Hello Everyone. I'm Patrick from Sterling, MA. Just joined this week - both the forum & BSJ.

First off, thank you for keeping Sterling looking great - BSJ maintains a section of our roads thru the Adopt a Highway program!

Who am I? - In my civilian life, I'm a product manager / social media manager for a large software company. In my military life, I'm a current member of the MA Air National Guard - been at it for over 20 years.

Tell us about the mods you have made: I have a pretty much stock 2008 JK Rubicon that I bought in Aug 2011. I have added Olympic Rock Rails and a few interior goodies like mud mats and grab handles.

Tell us about the mods you hope to make in the future: Looking to add some differential armor, front skid plate, a 2"-3" lift, 35" tires, a stubby bumper & winch, a better rear bumper, and some better off-road lighting.

How long have you been a member of Baystate? - Less than a week.

How long have you been offroading? - Had a 4x4 of some sort since 1998, but never had all the equipment or technology to go offroad seriously until I bought this Rubicon. Driven in a lot of snow and some mud and sand over the years, but always played it safe, since I was usually alone. Always looking to learn more.

Is this your first jeep? - No, I had a 2001 Jeep WJ Laredo (170K miles) that I traded in for my Rubicon. It had a 2" lift, Skyjacker shocks & 265/70/17 Firestone Destination A/T tires.

Sounds like this is a great club - can't wait to get out there with everyone. I've already signed up for the Jeep 101 event.

Welcome to the club, and thank you for your service. Who are you with in the Air Guard? I know a couple of guys who retired from the C-5 unit up at Chicopee

All:

Thanks for the welcomes.

Was at Barnes for a couple decades when they had the A-10 "Warthog" - I'm down at Otis ANGB now. I've worked with the C-5 folks years ago. Very HUGE aircraft - impressive!

Yeah, pretty impressive. I was in the Army, and was my unit's Movement NCO for a couple of years. They sent me to an abbreviated version of loadmaster school so I could build the company's air load plans. It never failed, as soon as I got the the aircraft the loadmaster would toss my plans in the trash and re-plan it the way he wanted it. What a waste of time. No hard feelings, though, it's his airplane...
