Another Joe Fix

Unread post by ZAEDOCK »

Led another club on a run this weekend.

We all a great time, up until one TJ turned his tie rod into a pretzel. Actually, a pretzel with a snapped tie rod.

Check out the tire at 0:06

And......Joe's typical fix:

I had my trailer, so we drove him to the trail head and I trailered the rig to a nearby restaurant. The owner then used AAA to get back to RI. All in all, it was a great day, and as usual, the people were awesome.

Who would have thunk ! Not much meat on that tire. Sat. night my lovley bride did the same thing. Would have loved to be on the side of the road to watch her handle it. From the skid marks she did a heck of a job not hitting anything. Shame to say , I flat bed it home. FjR68

I can see why they wrecked the steering from the video... They're lucky they didn't wreck something else -- that looked like the dragged a lot of stuff over a lot of rough ground.

Your right there Jon. The wheels looked like they could have been ripped right off. FjR68

After seeing a few of Joe's clever chain fix's  I added a length of chain a selection of bolts to my trail parts supply.
It's amazing what can be done with length of chain to get a rig off the trail.
