This is some freaky stuff and made locally by Boston Dynamics.... saw it in the globe yesterday and have to wonder how it would do on the trail. my guess is better than me.
1. A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey any orders given to it by human beings, except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

Jeff -
That thing has been around for at least a year... I saw videos of it a while ago. As a software engineer who has worked on several robotic systems and motion control systems I think it is pretty incredible!

Some of my installers were working on a project at Phase Forward about 2 years ago in that building that's under construction in the beginning of the clip and they saw them playng around with that thing in one of the parking lots. They said it was very loud but pretty cool and kinda freeky.
