YJ Axle Shaft upgrade

I tried to do the shaft upgrade but was unable to get the passenger side axle seal in the tube (inside the diff).

I was using the same seal as the drivers side and have found conflicting information just about everywhere.

Can someone throw up a part number that I could buy at autozone or advanced for this seal?

I have many part numbers but none of them are something I can walk into a store and buy.

Any help would be very appreciated.

Thanks,

J

J,

You want to get your hands on a NAPA 11800 seal.
It's the one you need to go in the passengers side of the diff.

(It's different than the one used on the drivers side.)

They never had 2 seals in the YJ diff. The long side shaft seal was ou board of the vac disco housing. Most housings are not machined for a long side shaft seal at the carrier. That being said I have seen some hp xj housings and a few YJ housings that did have the machines surface, so it is good to chack before you do a one piece shaft in a vac dico housing.
