Hello all,

I had a blast last weekend wheeling with baystate after re-joining (put my jeep back together...finally). I was a member in 2009, and the fall crawl that year was a rough time for my Rubicon (mangled 3 of 4 lower control arms, bent up my tranny skid into the oil pan, trashed both front U-joints... ). My first car was a 94 XJ which was great untill it rusted apart.

Current Setup:
2006 Rubicon
33" Goodyear MT/R's
3" Teraflex Long-arm kit
Teraflex Belly-up
Skidrow engine + transmission skid (which apparently fits right over an N-th degree oil pan skid)
1" Body Lift
CV Driveshaft
9000# Superwinch

I hope to soon add:
New gas tank skid
Rocker guards
Front bumper
Rear bumper/tire carrier

Hi Torin - It was good to meet you on the last run. I liked seeing your LCG long arm in action. Did you get any scrapes on your long arms?

My rubicon is an auto, I would have prefered a stick though. I scraped a bit on the one drop off before we got onto the powerlines, and rubbed a heim joint on an optional rock pile on rocky road. I am very pleased with how the longarms preformed offroad, and it really doesent drive much different on the highway. Now I just need to bite the bullet and buy some armor... any ideas on what rocker protection is the best (and why)?

I have the optional stock rails on my LJ. So far no complaints. They make for great running boards too, and are easy to sand/paint when they get all nasty.

The only extra skids I run are Poison Spyder Rocker Knockers, bought back when they were relatively cheap.

Some run engine and gas tank skids. My 4 popper oil pan is higher than a 4.0L and I've been meaning to weld some extra credit to my tank skid, but haven't gotten around to it.

That would be a cool skid to copy and build with HDPE sheet.

We as a club went to Canada for a wheeling adventure. That it was ! Every one of my skid was caved in so I ditched em all and made new ones out of tube and .25 plate. No worries mate !! FjR68

Looks like you need a soft top to give you more room around the trees.

After the trail, everything was okay on your truck? I remember you said that you might of busted something..

I had a drivers side rear upper control arm work its way loose and fall off the at the frame end. It *could* have sheered off but i don't suspect that was the case. The passenger side was also loose when I discovered the problem so I think I must have missed them when checking all the bolts. I think the control arm fell off after we aired up and were rolling down the dirt road, it was making quite a bit of noise. Anyways it was a easy fix, and I rechecked everything when I got home.
